Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature Should be softened for easy mixing.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
Mix-Ins
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 6 cookies Oreo cookies, chopped For an extra crunch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and mix until well incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped Oreos.
  7. Use a cookie scoop to drop balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set and lightly golden.
  2. Remove from the oven and cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week, or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the microwave for a few seconds before serving.
