Preparation
- Crush the Oreos: In a food processor, pulse the Oreo cookies until they resemble fine crumbs. You can also place them in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin if you don’t have a food processor.
- Mix the Cookie Crumbs and Cream Cheese: In a mixing bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs and softened cream cheese. Mix until well-combined and forms a dough-like consistency.
- Shape the Balls: Using your hands, scoop out about a tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Chill the Balls: Refrigerate the balls for at least 10-15 minutes to help them hold their shape while you’re coating them in chocolate.
- Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until smooth.
- Coat the Oreo Balls: Dip each chilled ball into the melted chocolate, using a fork to help lift it out while letting the excess drip off. Cover with your favorite toppings.
- Cool and Set: Return your chocolate-covered Oreo balls to the parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for about 30 minutes until firm.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of flavored extract like vanilla or almond. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.
