Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 package Oreo cookies (approx. 14.3 oz)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Ensure at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips (or white chocolate chips) Choose halal-certified chocolate chips for compliance.
  • to taste Toppings: sprinkles, crushed nuts, or any favorite decor

Method

Preparation
  1. Crush the Oreos: In a food processor, pulse the Oreo cookies until they resemble fine crumbs. You can also place them in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin if you don’t have a food processor.
  2. Mix the Cookie Crumbs and Cream Cheese: In a mixing bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs and softened cream cheese. Mix until well-combined and forms a dough-like consistency.
  3. Shape the Balls: Using your hands, scoop out about a tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Chill the Balls: Refrigerate the balls for at least 10-15 minutes to help them hold their shape while you’re coating them in chocolate.
  5. Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until smooth.
  6. Coat the Oreo Balls: Dip each chilled ball into the melted chocolate, using a fork to help lift it out while letting the excess drip off. Cover with your favorite toppings.
  7. Cool and Set: Return your chocolate-covered Oreo balls to the parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for about 30 minutes until firm.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of flavored extract like vanilla or almond. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.
