Looking for a delightful treat that perfectly combines sweetness with a hint of nostalgia? Look no further than Oreo Banana Bread! This indulgent bake is a fantastic way to use those overripe bananas sitting on your kitchen counter while giving your classic banana bread a fun and exciting twist. Infused with rich Oreo cookie pieces, each slice of this moist and flavorful bread takes your taste buds on a heavenly journey. In fact, I often find it disappearing within moments once I put it out for my family!

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. This is a great time to release any baking frustrations—squishing bananas is oddly satisfying!
  3. Stir in melted butter to the mashed bananas until mixed.
  4. Add baking soda and salt into the mixture, stirring until combined.
  5. Mix in sugar, followed by the beaten egg and vanilla extract. Make sure to mix it well—no one likes clumps!
  6. Gently fold in the flour until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix!
  7. Finally, fold in the crushed Oreo cookies. This is where the magic happens, bringing that signature crunch and indulgence to the bread.
  8. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  9. Bake for 50-60 minutes. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean when it's done.
  10. Cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack until cooled completely.
