Looking for a delightful treat that perfectly combines sweetness with a hint of nostalgia? Look no further than Oreo Banana Bread! This indulgent bake is a fantastic way to use those overripe bananas sitting on your kitchen counter while giving your classic banana bread a fun and exciting twist. Infused with rich Oreo cookie pieces, each slice of this moist and flavorful bread takes your taste buds on a heavenly journey. In fact, I often find it disappearing within moments once I put it out for my family!

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. This is a great time to release any baking frustrations—squishing bananas is oddly satisfying!
  • Stir in melted butter to the mashed bananas until mixed.
  • Add baking soda and salt into the mixture, stirring until combined.
  • Mix in sugar, followed by the beaten egg and vanilla extract. Make sure to mix it well—no one likes clumps!
  • Gently fold in the flour until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix!
  • Finally, fold in the crushed Oreo cookies. This is where the magic happens, bringing that signature crunch and indulgence to the bread.
  • Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean when it's done.
  • Cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack until cooled completely.
