Ingredients
  

For the Filling
  • 1 cup orange juice Use fresh-squeezed for better flavor.
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Crust and Topping
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • Zest of 1 orange For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the orange juice, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the softened butter and mix till crumbly.
  4. Press half of the crumb mixture into the bottom of the greased baking pan to form the crust.
  5. Pour the orange mixture over the crust and spread it evenly.
  6. Crumble the remaining dough over the filling.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  8. Cool at room temperature and then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
  9. Serve cold with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of orange zest.

Notes

Use fresh-squeezed orange juice for brighter flavor. You can freeze the bars for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before serving.
