Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 oz pasta (your choice, such as penne or rotini)
  • 1 lb spicy sausage, sliced
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (preferably honey-infused for sweetness)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced (any color you prefer)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Method

Cooking
  1. Begin by boiling a pot of salted water. Once it’s bubbling, add your pasta and cook it according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, toss in the sliced spicy sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic into the skillet. Sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes until the veggies soften and the onions turn translucent.
  4. Pour in the BBQ sauce and chicken broth. Stir well to combine all ingredients. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
  5. Toss the drained pasta into the skillet, stirring to coat it in the flavorful sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste and simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Adjust the spiciness by opting for mild sausage instead of spicy or adding a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
