Ingredients

Noodles and Base
  • 8 oz noodles (spaghetti or ramen) Use halal-certified noodles
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Use low-sodium for a healthier option
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil Nuts flavor
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For richness
  • 1-2 green onions, chopped Fresh for crunch and flavor
Optional Toppings
  • to taste sesame seeds For added crunch
  • to taste chili flakes For heat
  • to taste vegetables Like bell peppers or broccoli for customization

Method

Cooking the Noodles
  1. Begin by boiling a pot of salted water. Once it’s bubbling, add in your 8 ounces of noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Preparing the Sauce
  1. While the noodles are cooking, grab a mixing bowl. Add in 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Stir well to combine all the flavors.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Once your noodles are drained, add them directly to the bowl with the sauce. Toss the noodles gently to ensure every strand is coated in that delicious mixture.
  2. Toss in your chopped green onions. Feel free to sprinkle in some sesame seeds or chili flakes if you wish for an extra layer of flavor!
Serving
  1. Transfer the coated noodles to a serving bowl, and enjoy. You can add more toppings at this stage if you desire.

Notes

If you don’t have sesame oil, substitute with vegetable oil, but it will lack a nutty flavor. Ensure all ingredients are prepped to streamline the cooking process. Watch the noodles while cooking to prevent overcooking.
