Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and stir well to combine.
- Beat the egg lightly and add it to the mixture along with the vanilla extract. Stir until well incorporated.
- Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture, then add sugar and flour. Gently fold everything together until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing out the top with a spatula.
Baking
- Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 60-70 minutes. If the top becomes too brown, cover it gently with aluminum foil.
- Insert a toothpick into the center; if it comes out clean, your banana bread is ready. If not, continue baking a little longer.
Cooling and Serving
- Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!
Notes
Store leftover banana bread wrapped in plastic wrap or foil in the fridge for up to 1 week, or freeze slices for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds or in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
