Preparation
- Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly but do not overwork the meat.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties, making a small indentation in the center of each.
Cooking
- Grill or pan-fry your patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until the meat reaches your desired doneness. Add mozzarella cheese on top during the last couple of minutes, covering with a lid to melt.
- While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
Assembly
- Place the burgers on the toasted buns, spoon marinara sauce on top, and finish with any optional toppings you desire.
- Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave for 30-45 seconds or on a skillet over low heat.
