Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup pitted dates (soaked if dry) Soak if dates are dry.
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup hazelnuts (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup almond butter May substitute with any nut butter.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Method

Preparation
  1. If your dates are on the drier side, soak them in warm water for about 10-15 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a food processor, combine the soaked dates, rolled oats, dark chocolate chips, almond butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Pulse until the mixture becomes sticky and well-combined.
  3. Gently fold in the chopped hazelnuts, ensuring they are distributed evenly throughout the mixture.
  4. Using your hands, take small amounts of the mixture and roll them into balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  5. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate them for about 30 minutes until firm.
  6. Serve chilled and enjoy your delicious Nutty Chocolate Balls with Hazelnut Crunch. They can also be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for later treats!

Notes

Feel free to swap almond butter for peanut butter or any nut butter of your choice. You can also use walnuts or almonds instead of hazelnuts. Add spices like cinnamon or chili powder for a twist. Chilling the mixture is essential for texture.
