Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix the vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Then, slowly stir in the buttermilk.
- Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry mixture, stirring until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
Filling
- Spoon about a tablespoon of batter into each cupcake liner.
- Add a dollop of Nutella and some diced strawberries on top.
- Cover with another tablespoon of cupcake batter.
Baking
- Place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cooling
- Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
Notes
For an enhanced flavor, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Room temperature ingredients yield a smoother batter, and don't overmix to avoid dense cupcakes.
