Ingredients
  

Cupcake Batter
  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.75 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups packed brown sugar
  • 0.5 cups vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cups buttermilk
Fillings
  • 1 cups fresh strawberries, diced
  • 0.5 cups Nutella

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix the vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Then, slowly stir in the buttermilk.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry mixture, stirring until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
Filling
  1. Spoon about a tablespoon of batter into each cupcake liner.
  2. Add a dollop of Nutella and some diced strawberries on top.
  3. Cover with another tablespoon of cupcake batter.
Baking
  1. Place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cooling
  1. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.

Notes

For an enhanced flavor, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Room temperature ingredients yield a smoother batter, and don't overmix to avoid dense cupcakes.
