Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed Ensure bananas are very ripe for the best sweetness and flavor.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Nutella If too firm, warm it slightly in the microwave to make it easier to swirl.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with liners or grease it lightly.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork. Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
  3. Mix in the baking soda, salt, and sugar. Add in the beaten egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. Gently fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Spoon half of the batter into the prepared muffin tin, creating a small well in the center of each. Add about a teaspoon of Nutella into the center, then cover with the remaining batter.
  6. Use a toothpick or knife to gently swirl the Nutella into the batter, creating a marbled effect.
  7. Place the muffin tin in the oven and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the muffins to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

These muffins pair beautifully with coffee or milk. For a more indulgent experience, serve them with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Store leftover muffins in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze them for up to 3 months.
