Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 3 pieces ripe bananas The riper the bananas, the sweeter the bread.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Nutella (plus more for swirls) Use more Nutella for swirling on top.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir in the melted butter until well combined. Mix in the baking soda and salt. Then, add the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract, stirring until fully incorporated.
  4. Gently fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined—be careful not to overmix!
  5. Pour half the batter into the prepared loaf pan, then add half of the Nutella. Use a knife or a skewer to swirl the Nutella into the batter. Pour in the remaining batter and top with the rest of the Nutella, swirling again.
  6. Bake for about 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store your Nutella Banana Bread wrapped tightly in plastic wrap or in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Freeze for up to 3 months, slicing before freezing for easy portions.
