Method
Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, and salt. Stir well to ensure everything is evenly distributed.
- Pour in the warm water, using a wooden spoon or spatula to mix until it forms a wet and sticky dough. Don't worry about lumps; this bread doesn’t require perfection!
First Rise
- Cover the bowl with a damp kitchen towel and place it in a warm spot. Allow the dough to rise for about 8 to 12 hours.
Shaping
- After the dough has risen and doubled in size, sprinkle some flour on a clean surface. Gently scrape the dough out onto the floured surface and fold it into a ball.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). If you have a Dutch oven, place it inside while preheating.
Baking
- Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven and place the parchment paper in it. Now, place your dough in the pot, cover with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes to achieve that golden-brown crust.
- Once done, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding herbs or spices to your dough. Be patient with rising times for best results. Store at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
