Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Make sure your flour is fresh.
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast Instant yeast for quick rising.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Regular table salt or sea salt.
  • 1.5 cups warm water Ensure it is warm, not hot.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, and salt. Stir well to ensure everything is evenly distributed.
  2. Pour in the warm water, using a wooden spoon or spatula to mix until it forms a wet and sticky dough. Don't worry about lumps; this bread doesn’t require perfection!
First Rise
  1. Cover the bowl with a damp kitchen towel and place it in a warm spot. Allow the dough to rise for about 8 to 12 hours.
Shaping
  1. After the dough has risen and doubled in size, sprinkle some flour on a clean surface. Gently scrape the dough out onto the floured surface and fold it into a ball.
  2. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). If you have a Dutch oven, place it inside while preheating.
Baking
  1. Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven and place the parchment paper in it. Now, place your dough in the pot, cover with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
  2. After 30 minutes, remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes to achieve that golden-brown crust.
  3. Once done, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding herbs or spices to your dough. Be patient with rising times for best results. Store at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
