- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, and salt. Stir well.
- Pour in the water along with the minced garlic and chopped herbs. Mix until just combined.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel and let it rest at room temperature for 12-18 hours.
- An hour before baking, preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) with the Dutch oven inside.
- Flour a clean surface and turn the dough out onto it. Shape it into a ball without overworking it.
- Cover the dough with a towel and let it rest while the oven heats up.
- Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven, place the dough inside (you may line it with parchment paper), cover it, and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
- Transfer the bread to a wire rack and let it cool before slicing.
Notes
You can interchange herbs with oregano or basil for a different flavor profile. Allow enough time for the dough to rise for maximum flavor development.
