Ingredients
  

For the truffle filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Make sure this is softened for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp orange zest Fresh zest preferred for best flavor.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups crushed vanilla wafers or graham cracker crumbs Use whichever base you prefer.
For the coating
  • 1 cup orange candy melts or white chocolate with orange food coloring
Optional toppings
  • additional orange zest or crushed graham crackers For decorating the truffles.

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add in the orange zest and vanilla extract. Mix until thoroughly combined.
  3. Gradually fold in the crushed vanilla wafers until they’re evenly incorporated.
  4. Roll the mixture into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on a lined baking sheet. Refrigerate for about 20-30 minutes.
  5. While the truffles are chilling, melt the orange candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, following package instructions.
Coating
  1. Dip each chilled truffle into the melted orange candy, ensuring they’re fully coated. Place them back on the lined sheet.
  2. Sprinkle some orange zest or crushed graham crackers on top before the coating hardens.
  3. Let the truffles set in the refrigerator for an additional 30 minutes.
