Preparation
- Start by juicing fresh oranges to get 2 cups of juice. Strain the juice if you prefer a smoother texture.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the freshly squeezed orange juice, whole milk, sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir well until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- For a quicker freezing process, chill the mixture in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
Freezing
- Pour the mixture into the Ninja Creami pint container and freeze for at least 24 hours.
- After 24 hours, remove the pint container from the freezer, install it on the Ninja Creami machine, select the 'Lite Ice Cream' option, and process.
Serving
- Once processed, scoop the sherbet into bowls, top with your favorite toppings, and enjoy.
Notes
Store in the freezer for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container. Let sit at room temperature for a few minutes if too hard to scoop. Avoid re-freezing melted sherbet.
