  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Ensure it's sifted for better mixing.
  • 1/2 cup grated Comté cheese Can substitute with Gruyère if needed.
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard Customize to taste.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened Can use unsalted margarine as an alternative.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 number egg yolk
  • 1-2 tablespoons cold water Add gradually as needed.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Add the softened butter and grated Comté cheese to the bowl. Mix until resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the Dijon mustard and egg yolk until well blended.
  5. Gradually add 1-2 tablespoons of cold water, mixing until the dough comes together.
  6. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out to about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Cut into desired shapes using a sharp knife or pizzette cutter.
Baking
  1. Place your snacks on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  2. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  3. Let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
  4. Enjoy warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Store snacks in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge. Freeze for up to a month; reheat at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
