Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 8 pieces Halal hot dogs
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • Mustard or ketchup (for eyes) Optional toppings for decoration

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface. Cut it into thin strips, about 1/2 inch wide.
  3. Gently take one hot dog and start wrapping it with the dough strips, leaving a small gap for the 'face' of the mummy. Repeat this for all hot dogs.
  4. Place your wrapped hot dogs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown.
  6. Once out of the oven and slightly cooled, use little dots of mustard or ketchup to create eyes on each mummy.

Notes

If Halal hot dogs aren’t available, you can substitute with vegetarian hot dogs or other Halal-friendly sausages. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes.
