Ingredients
  

For the Cake
  • 1 box cake mix (white or yellow) Follow package instructions for specific mix.
  • 0.5 cup cocoa powder
For the Topping
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Use high-quality chocolate chips for a richer flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the cake mix box.
  2. In a mixing bowl, prepare the cake mix following the instructions on the package.
  3. Once the cake mix is ready, add in 1/2 cup of cocoa powder and stir until well combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the combined batter into a greased cake pan.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven as directed on the cake mix package until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cooling and Topping
  1. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  2. Melt the 2 cups of chocolate chips in a microwave or double boiler.
  3. Once melted, pour the chocolate over the cooled cake, allowing it to drip down the sides.

Notes

Pair your Mounds Cake with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream and fresh berries. Store leftover cake in an airtight container to avoid drying out, and consider freezing for longer storage.
