Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips and crushed Oreo cookies until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Sprinkle additional Oreo pieces on top if desired.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown around the edges.
- Once baked, let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Chill the dough for thicker cookies. Use quality ingredients for best flavor. Experiment with additional mix-ins like white chocolate or dried fruits.
