Preparation
- In a bowl, combine the ground pork, shrimp, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well and set aside.
- Take a wonton wrapper and place about a teaspoon of the meat mixture in the center. Fold and seal the wrapper to create a dumpling, repeating until all the filling is used.
Cooking the Soup
- In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil over medium heat.
- Carefully add the dumplings to the boiling broth and cook for about 5 minutes or until they float to the top.
- Stir in the carrots, celery, soy sauce, and sesame oil, allowing the mixture to simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Once everything is well combined, ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with chopped green onions.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute ground chicken or turkey for pork. Ensure not to overcrowd the pot when adding dumplings to cook them evenly. Don't skip on the seasoning for enhanced flavors.
