Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
- In a separate large bowl, mix together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, pumpkin puree, mashed bananas, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, folding gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream cheese or a drizzle of honey. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
