Ingredients

Crust Ingredients
  • 1.5 cups graham cracker crumbs Use finely crushed graham crackers.
  • 0.5 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cups butter, melted Ensure it's unsalted.
Filling Ingredients
  • 1 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cups brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Topping Ingredients
  • 1 cups heavy cream For whipped cream topping.
  • 0.25 cups powdered sugar For sweetening the whipped cream.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, unsweetened cocoa powder, and melted butter. Mix until well combined. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom and sides of a pie dish to form a crust.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract and chocolate chips.
  4. Pour the filling mixture into the prepared crust, ensuring it's evenly distributed.
Baking
  1. Place your pie in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the filling is set.
  2. Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool at room temperature. Then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to chill.
Topping
  1. In a separate bowl, use a mixer to whip heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  2. Once the pie has chilled, spread the whipped cream over the top and serve!

Notes

Allowing the pie to chill enhances the flavor. You can substitute the crust with crushed nuts for a gluten-free option and carob powder for a unique twist.
