Preparation
- Crush the Oreos: Place the Mint Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until finely crushed.
- Mix with Cream Cheese: In a large bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with softened cream cheese and mix until a dough-like consistency is formed.
- Form the Balls: Take small portions (about 1 tablespoon) and roll them into balls, then place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Chill: Refrigerate the Oreo balls for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
Coating
- Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips and vegetable oil in 30-second intervals until smooth.
- Coat the Balls: Dip each chilled ball into the melted chocolate ensuring full coverage, then place back on the baking sheet.
- Garnish: Optionally sprinkle with reserved crushed Oreos or sprinkles before the chocolate hardens.
- Chill Again: Let the chocolate set in the fridge for another 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
Mint Oreo Balls can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. They can also be frozen for three months.
