Preparation
- Start by pressing the tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap it in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top for about 15 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes and toss them in the marinade. Let the tofu soak in these flavors for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan on medium heat. While it's heating, thread the marinated tofu cubes onto soaked skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.
Cooking
- Place the kebabs on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning frequently until they’re golden and crispy on all sides.
Serving
- Enjoy your kebabs hot off the grill. Serve with your choice of sauce, such as tahini or a sprinkle of fresh herbs.
Notes
Tips for perfecting: Try substituting firm tofu with tempeh for a nuttier flavor or use vegetables like bell peppers and zucchini for a colorful veggie version. Marinating longer enhances flavor. Ensure proper pressing of tofu to avoid sogginess.
