Ingredients

For the Cookie
  • 1 tablespoon butter Melted
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 piece egg yolk
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate chips
  • a pinch salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Melt the butter in your favorite mug in the microwave for about 20 seconds. Keep an eye on it so it doesn’t bubble over.
  2. Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar to the melted butter. Stir until well combined.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract and the egg yolk until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Slowly add the all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt. Stir until just combined, making sure to scrape down the sides. Then fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Microwave your mug cookie for 40 to 60 seconds, depending on the wattage of your microwave. Start with 40 seconds, and if it’s not quite set, pop it back in for an additional 10 seconds.
  6. Let the cookie cool for a minute. Top with whipped cream, ice cream, or your favorite drizzle, and dig in!

Notes

For best results, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature. If you prefer a dairy-free version, substitute melted coconut oil for butter. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days or freeze the unbaked mixture for up to a month.
