Preparation
- In your microwave-safe mug, combine 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter. Microwave it for about 20-30 seconds until completely melted.
- Add 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar to the melted butter. Stir until well combined.
- Next, toss in 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 egg yolk. Mix until smooth.
- Add 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt to the mixture. Stir until everything is evenly blended.
- Gently mix in 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips until evenly distributed in the dough.
- Pop your mug in the microwave and cook for about 40-60 seconds. Start with 40 seconds and check if a toothpick comes out clean. If not, microwave in additional 10-second increments until just cooked.
- Let it cool for a minute before digging in! Feel free to top it with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
If you're aiming for a lower calorie option, consider substituting butter with coconut oil. Microwave ovens vary, so always start with shorter cooking time and check often to avoid overcooking.
