Ingredients
  

Cookie Base
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter Melted
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg yolk Discard the egg white
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 pinch salt
Mix-ins
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In your microwave-safe mug, combine 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter. Microwave it for about 20-30 seconds until completely melted.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar to the melted butter. Stir until well combined.
  3. Next, toss in 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 egg yolk. Mix until smooth.
  4. Add 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt to the mixture. Stir until everything is evenly blended.
  5. Gently mix in 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips until evenly distributed in the dough.
  6. Pop your mug in the microwave and cook for about 40-60 seconds. Start with 40 seconds and check if a toothpick comes out clean. If not, microwave in additional 10-second increments until just cooked.
  7. Let it cool for a minute before digging in! Feel free to top it with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

If you're aiming for a lower calorie option, consider substituting butter with coconut oil. Microwave ovens vary, so always start with shorter cooking time and check often to avoid overcooking.
