Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 lb ground chicken You can substitute with ground turkey or a plant-based alternative.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Use panko for extra crispiness.
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped parsley Fresh parsley works best.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Add more if you love garlic!
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • as needed olive oil For cooking.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, parsley, minced garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Add the beaten egg and mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into evenly sized portions, and shape them into patties—about 3 inches in diameter.
Cooking
  1. In a skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. You want the pan hot but not smoking.
  2. Place the patties in the skillet, ensuring you don’t overcrowd them. Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
Serving
  1. Once cooked, remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve them warm with your favorite dipping sauce or in a fresh pita!

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can freeze cooked patties for up to 3 months. To reheat, place thawed patties in a skillet over medium heat or in the oven at 350°F for about 10-15 minutes.
