Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bring water to a boil in a large pot and cook the ziti according to the package instructions. Once done, drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked ziti, marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, chopped spinach, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
Layering
- In a greased baking dish, spread half of the ziti mixture evenly, then sprinkle half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Add the remaining ziti mixture on top and finish with the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Drizzle olive oil over the top.
Baking
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For variations, consider adding fresh herbs like basil or spices such as red pepper flakes. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
