  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls Drained and dried
  • 8 oz burrata cheese Drained and dried
Marinade
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • a handful fresh basil leaves Torn

Method
 

Preparation of Ingredients
  1. Begin by draining the fresh mozzarella balls and burrata cheese if they are packed in liquid. Pat them dry gently with a clean kitchen towel.
Mix the Marinade
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Combine well to create a flavorful marinade.
Add the Cheeses
  1. Add the mozzarella balls and burrata cheese into the bowl with the marinade. Gently toss them to ensure each piece is well-coated with the mixture.
Add Freshness
  1. Tear the basil leaves and sprinkle them over the cheese, gently mixing them in.
Marinate
  1. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and allow the cheeses to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Serve
  1. Once marinated, transfer the cheeses to a serving platter, drizzle any remaining marinade on top, and garnish with more fresh basil if desired.

Notes

Substitutions: Use bocconcini or pearls if fresh mozzarella is unavailable. Timing: Marinate for 30 minutes for best results, but longer is better. Avoid Common Mistakes: Ensure mozzarella and burrata are thoroughly dried before marinating to prevent dilution of flavors.
