Ingredients

For the Iced Tea
  • 4 cups brewed black tea (cooled) Use about 4 tea bags for brewing.
  • 1 cup ripe mango puree (about 2 large mangoes) Peel and dice mangoes before blending.
  • 2 tablespoons honey or sugar Adjust to taste.
  • 1-2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • to taste fresh mint leaves (for garnish) Use for decoration and added flavor.
  • as needed ice cubes For serving.

Method

Preparation
  1. Brew the Tea: Start by brewing your black tea. Use about 4 tea bags for 4 cups of water, steep for 5-7 minutes, then allow to cool completely. For an extra twist, consider adding a few mint leaves while the tea steeps.
  2. Prepare the Mango Puree: While your tea cools, peel and dice the mangoes. Place the mango pieces in a blender and blend until smooth to create a puree. If you're feeling fancy, strain it to remove any fibers for a silkier texture.
  3. Mix the Ingredients: In a large pitcher, combine the cooled tea, mango puree, honey or sugar, and lime juice. Stir well until everything is combined. Taste and adjust the sweetness as desired.
  4. Chill: Refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes. The longer it chills, the better the flavors meld.
  5. Serve: When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice cubes, pour in the mango iced tea, and garnish with fresh mint leaves for a pop of color and flavor.

Notes

Use ripe mangoes for the best flavor. Experiment with different types of tea for varied flavor profiles. Store in an airtight pitcher for up to 3 days or freeze in ice cube trays for future drinks.
