Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Use a bit of oil or cooking spray to grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Add in the cooked and crumbled sausage, diced bread, bell peppers, onions, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Fold in the shredded cheese, reserving a little to sprinkle on top later.
- Pour the mixture into the greased casserole dish and spread evenly.
- If you skipped adding cheese before, sprinkle the reserved portion on top now.
Baking
- Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
- Allow it to cool for a few minutes before cutting it into squares.
- Serve hot, and complement it with your favorite toppings!
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To freeze before baking, thaw overnight in the fridge and bake as instructed. For reheating, use the oven covered with foil at 350°F for about 20-25 minutes.
