  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until well combined.
  3. Mix in the flour, then gradually add the milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Keep whisking until the mixture is smooth.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 50-60 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  2. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely in the pan.
Serving
  1. Gently run a knife around the edges to loosen it, then flip it onto a serving plate. Dust with powdered sugar if desired!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Freezing is also an option; wrap in plastic and then aluminum foil to last up to 2 months. Reheat individual slices in the microwave for about 20 seconds.
