Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Divide the mixture into equal portions and form into patties about ¾-inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing up during cooking.
Cooking
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the patties on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip.
- After flipping, add a slice of cheese on each patty. Continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your desired level of doneness.
- During the last few minutes of cooking, place your buns on the grill to toast lightly.
Assembly
- Start with the bottom bun, then layer with lettuce, the beef patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, onion slices, and pickles.
- Top with your favorite condiments before placing the top bun on!
Serving
- Share these delicious loaded burgers with family and friends and enjoy!
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Consider substitutions with ground turkey or chicken, and vegetarian options like lentil patties. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
