Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 package (3oz) lime-flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 cup cottage cheese (make sure it's Halal)
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 cup whipped topping (Halal-friendly)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped nuts (optional) Use your preference
  • a pinch salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by boiling 1 cup of water in a saucepan.
  2. Once it’s boiling, pour in the lime-flavored gelatin powder. Stir well until fully dissolved.
  3. Take the saucepan off the heat and stir in 1 cup of cold water. Set aside to cool slightly.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the cottage cheese and crushed pineapple. Stir until well blended.
  5. Once the gelatin is cool but not set, fold it gently into the cottage cheese and pineapple mixture.
  6. Add the whipped topping and mix until it’s uniformly green and creamy. Fold in the nuts if desired.
  7. Pour the entire mixture into a mold or serving dish and refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours, or until fully set.
  8. Once set, slice and serve chilled. Enjoy the refreshing taste and delightful texture!

Notes

For firmer texture, reduce the amount of cold water. You can mix in diced fruit like apples or grapes. Store covered in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. If freezing, the texture may change.
