Ingredients

Burger Mixture
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese for added flavor
  • 1 whole lemon (zested and juiced) adds brightness
  • 1 clove garlic, minced for aromatic flavor
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs can use gluten-free if desired
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped adds freshness
  • to taste Salt and pepper to season
Burger Assembly
  • Burger buns (Halal-compliant)
  • Lettuce, tomato, and other toppings as desired

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, grated Parmesan cheese, lemon zest, lemon juice, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to blend the ingredients until evenly mixed; don’t overmix or the burgers may become tough.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and form patties about 1 inch thick. Press them gently to give a nice flat shape, which will help them cook evenly.
Cooking
  1. Heat a non-stick skillet or grill over medium heat. Lightly grease with a little oil, and once hot, add the patties.
  2. Cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and have a nice golden crust.
Assembly
  1. While the burgers are cooking, prepare your burger buns and toppings.
  2. Once the patties are done, assemble your burger by placing a patty on the bun followed by lettuce, tomato, and any other desired toppings.
Serving
  1. Serve hot and enjoy the burst of flavors with every bite!

Notes

If you want to make the recipe gluten-free, use gluten-free breadcrumbs or crushed gluten-free crackers. For a dairy-free version, skip the Parmesan and add more herbs. Ensure the skillet is adequately heated to prevent sticking.
