Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef Freshly ground beef for best flavor.
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce Adds savory flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar For sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil For distinct flavor.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 2 pieces green onions, chopped Add freshness.
  • Salt and pepper to taste To enhance flavors.
  • Cooked rice, for serving Optional, for a full meal.
  • Lettuce leaves, for wrapping For serving, adds crunch.

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Sauté until it’s completely browned, breaking it up into small pieces. Drain any excess fat if desired.
  2. Once the beef is cooked, add the minced garlic and ginger. Stir and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Mix thoroughly and let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Just before serving, mix in the chopped green onions, saving a few for garnish.
  5. Serve over a bed of warm rice or spooned into crispy lettuce leaves for a delightful wrap.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the skillet or microwave with a splash of soy sauce.
