Ingredients
  

For the cookies
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature.
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs Should be at room temperature.
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk
For the glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until creamy and light.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until fully combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and finish with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space for spreading.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
  2. While the cookies are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Once the cookies are out of the oven, let them cool on wire racks. Drizzle the glaze over the cookies once cooled.

Notes

Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze for up to three months. Thaw at room temperature or microwave for a few seconds before serving.
