Ingredients
  

For the cake
  • 1 package chocolate sandwich cookies (crushed) Double-stuffed cookies recommended for creamier layers.
  • 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 container whipped topping
For decoration
  • as needed gummy worms For garnish.
  • as needed edible chocolate rocks or extra crushed cookies For additional decoration.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Crush the cookies: Place the chocolate sandwich cookies in a resealable plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin until they resemble fine crumbs.
  2. Prepare the pudding: In a bowl, combine the instant chocolate pudding mix with 2 cups of milk. Whisk until the mixture is smooth. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until it thickens.
  3. Mix with whipped topping: Once the pudding is set, fold in the whipped topping until fully combined.
Layering
  1. In a large clear dish or individual cups, create layers starting with a layer of cookie crumbs, followed by pudding mixture, and repeat until the container is full, finishing with cookie crumbs on top.
Decoration and serving
  1. Add gummy worms and edible chocolate rocks or additional cookie crumbs on top of the final layer.
  2. Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

This dessert can be prepared a day in advance. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Freezing individual portions is also an option, but textures may vary upon thawing. Let sit at room temperature before serving.
