Preparation
- Crush the cookies: Place the chocolate sandwich cookies in a resealable plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin until they resemble fine crumbs.
- Prepare the pudding: In a bowl, combine the instant chocolate pudding mix with 2 cups of milk. Whisk until the mixture is smooth. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until it thickens.
- Mix with whipped topping: Once the pudding is set, fold in the whipped topping until fully combined.
Layering
- In a large clear dish or individual cups, create layers starting with a layer of cookie crumbs, followed by pudding mixture, and repeat until the container is full, finishing with cookie crumbs on top.
Decoration and serving
- Add gummy worms and edible chocolate rocks or additional cookie crumbs on top of the final layer.
- Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
This dessert can be prepared a day in advance. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Freezing individual portions is also an option, but textures may vary upon thawing. Let sit at room temperature before serving.
