Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, parsley, dill, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined. Be careful not to overwork the mixture, as this can lead to tough burgers.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1-inch thick. Use your thumb to make a small dent in the center of each patty.
Cooking
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Grill the patties for 5-6 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and they are golden brown.
- In a separate bowl, combine the yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, dill, lemon juice, and salt. Stir well and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Assembly
- Serve the grilled chicken patties on buns topped with tzatziki sauce and your choice of fresh veggies.
Notes
If substituting, try ground turkey for the chicken. Ensure to preheat the grill for the right sear, and avoid pressing down on the patties while cooking.
