Method
Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef or chicken with the finely chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Use your hands to mix the ingredients thoroughly.
Forming the Patties
- Once mixed, divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, slightly bigger than the burger buns.
Cooking
- Preheat your air fryer to 370°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Place the patties in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they’re not touching. Cook for approximately 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Ensure your burgers reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for chicken or 160°F (70°C) for beef.
- If desired, for the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the burger buns to the air fryer to toast.
Assembly
- Once the patties are cooked through and the buns are toasted, assemble your burgers with your favorite toppings and enjoy.
Notes
Feel free to swap ground beef for ground turkey or plant-based options for a lighter alternative. Store burgers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
