Ingredients

Jalapeños
  • 4 medium medium-sized jalapeños (fresh) Cut in half and seeds removed, if desired.
Toppings
  • 1 cup sour cream (creamy and rich) Generously fill each jalapeño half.
  • 2 cups Takis or spicy chips (crushed) For topping the jalapeños.
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice Optional for added zest.
  • Fresh cilantro Optional for garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash the jalapeños thoroughly and cut them in half lengthwise. Remove the seeds if you prefer a milder flavor.
  2. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  3. Place the halved jalapeños on a baking sheet cut-side up.
Filling and Baking
  1. Spoon sour cream into each jalapeño half, filling generously.
  2. Crush the Takis or spicy chips and sprinkle them on top of the sour cream-filled jalapeños.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the jalapeños are tender and the toppings are golden.
Serving
  1. Remove from the oven and let cool for a moment. Optionally sprinkle with freshly chopped cilantro and serve warm.

Notes

For a milder version, substitute jalapeños with bell peppers. Monitor baking time to ensure jalapeños are tender but not mushy. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
