Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup honey Invest in good-quality honey for maximum flavor.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
Optional Topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix until well incorporated.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, and egg until fully blended.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry mixture, stirring until the dough comes together. It will be slightly sticky.
  5. Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie for them to spread.
Baking
  1. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe bag. Reheat in a microwave for a few seconds or warm in a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C) for a few minutes.
