Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, use a fork to mash the ripe bananas. Stir in the melted butter.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the banana mixture and mix it in. Then, mix in the vanilla extract.
- Stir in the sugar and beaten egg until well combined.
- Gently add the flour, being careful not to over-mix. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
- Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
Notes
Feel free to customize with nuts, dried fruits, or different types of chocolate chips to elevate the flavor profile. Wrap cooled bread in plastic wrap or aluminum foil for storage. For longer storage, slice and freeze the bread.
