Preparation
- In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
- Add the tea bags to the boiling water and let them steep for about 5–7 minutes, depending on how strong you prefer your tea.
- While the tea is steeping, rinse and slice fresh peaches, or open your canned peaches. If you're using fresh, you can even mash them a little to release more flavor.
- Remove the tea bags from the pot and pour the hot tea into a pitcher.
- Add the sugar to the warm tea and mix until fully dissolved.
- Stir in the peach slices and lemon juice if you're using it. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
- Refrigerate the tea for about two hours to ensure it’s nice and chilled.
Serving
- Fill glasses with ice, pour your peach tea over, and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired. Enjoy!
Notes
Enjoy alongside classic Southern fare like fried chicken, coleslaw, or barbecue ribs. You can also experiment with different garnishes such as lemon slices or raspberry puree.
