Irresistible Red, White and Blue Fruit Kabobs

Ingredients
  

For the Kabobs
  • 1 pound Fresh strawberries, hulled Choose ripe strawberries for the best flavor.
  • 2 cups Fresh blueberries, rinsed
  • 2 medium Ripe but firm bananas Slice into 1-inch pieces.
  • 8 pieces Wooden or bamboo skewers Soak wooden skewers in water to prevent burning.

Preparation
  1. Wash the strawberries and blueberries under cool running water. Hull the strawberries and cut them in half. Peel the bananas and slice them into 1-inch pieces.
Assembly
  1. Take a skewer and start threading a half strawberry onto the bottom. Follow it with a piece of banana, and then add a blueberry. Repeat this pattern until the skewer is filled (about 4-5 pieces per skewer).
  2. Continue assembling the remaining kabobs until all the fruit is used. Feel free to alternate the order of the fruits for a fun unexpected twist.
Serving
  1. Arrange the kabobs on a serving tray or plate. They can be served immediately or chilled in the refrigerator for a bit before serving.

Notes

For extra flair, consider serving with yogurt or whipped cream for dipping. They pair well with BBQ foods and refreshing summer drinks.
