  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • as desired powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease an 8-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in the thinly sliced apples and melted butter.
  6. Transfer the mixture into your prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
Baking
  1. Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  2. Dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers tightly wrapped in plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight and warm in the oven to restore freshness.
