Ingredients
  

For the dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Use all-purpose flour for best results, can experiment with whole wheat flour.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup water Adjust as needed to achieve a pliable dough.

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Gradually pour in the water, mixing until a soft dough forms. Adjust the water as needed to achieve a pliable consistency.
  3. Lightly knead the dough on a floured surface for about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Divide the dough into small balls, then flatten each ball to about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. In a deep pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Carefully place each flatbread into the hot oil, frying until golden brown on both sides (about 1-2 minutes each).
  4. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.

Notes

Serve with toppings like chili, honey, or powdered sugar. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
