Preparation
- Start with your favorite ice cream flavor. Let it sit at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes to soften, making it easier to scoop.
- If you’re using a silicone mold, you can skip greasing it. For plastic molds, consider lightly greasing to ensure easy removal later.
- Scoop a generous layer of ice cream into the bottom of the mold. Use a spatula to press it down firmly but gently. You can add layers of toppings if you’d like—think crushed up cookies or fresh fruit.
- Continue layering until you’ve filled the mold to the top, ensuring you’ve packed it down tightly with each addition.
- Cover the mold with a lid or plastic wrap and place it in the freezer. Allow it to set for at least 4-6 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Once frozen, gently pull the mold away from the ice cream. If you used a plastic mold, you might need to run warm water over the outside to help release it. Cut into slices and serve with your favorite toppings!
Notes
To prevent freezer burn, wrap tightly in plastic wrap or foil. Best enjoyed within two weeks. This dessert does not require reheating.
