Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the halal ground sausage until it’s browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, shredded cheddar, sour cream, green onions, tomatoes, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well incorporated and smooth.
- Add the cooked sausage to the cheese mixture and stir until evenly combined.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving with tortilla chips or your choice of dippers.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute the cream cheese with Greek yogurt or cottage cheese. Keep an eye on the baking time to prevent the dip from becoming too thick. Ensure your cream cheese is softened to maintain creaminess. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
